Paciano is the ideal destination for visitors looking for a base from which to explore the wonders of Umbria, the "Green Heart of Italy", as well as the charms of neighboring Tuscany. The perfect little Italian town is perched on the slopes of a hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Trasimeno.
Paciano is a walled village with three gates and three narrow streets, connected by numerous walkways between the lovely old buildings comprising the homes and shops within the old town. To make life easy and convenient, this little town houses two bars where the best cappuccino, cold beer, Italian wines and snacks are waiting for you to enjoy. There are also three excellent restaurants, a butcher shop where you can pick up some prepared food or choose to purchase some of the best meats so you can create your own Italian feast. A grocery store, pharmacy and an ATM are just steps away from the front door.
Dating back to the 13th century, Paciano has been recognized by the European Community as one of the ten most livable and one of the most beautiful villages in all of Italy. The beautiful old town center has remained almost unchanged since medieval times. The people of the town are warm, friendly and helpful.
In spring and summer, there are many outdoor festivities including concerts, dances and fairs. Autumn brings the wine harvest in September/October and the olive harvest in October/November. We can arrange for you to participate in both.
